AFJr. counselors provide short-term and goal-focused counseling to help students with their academic, social, and emotional well-being. While we do not provide therapy or long-term counseling, we are prepared to recognize and respond to student mental health needs and to assist students and families seeking resources.
Students and/or parents can request counseling by contacting their counselor directly or by dropping into the counseling office during regular school hours.
Our counselors offer group counseling sessions with small groups of students in areas such as study skills, social skills, divorce support, anxiety/stress, grief support, etc.
Contact your student’s counselor if you feel that your student would benefit from participation in one of these groups or if you have any other needs that could be addressed.
